Design & Quote
It is crucial to fine-tune lighting elements, including rhythm, to achieve a balance of light and dark, highlight focal points in the landscape, buildings, and property, and to harmonize light with dark, light with light, and dark with dark. In landscape lighting, the principle of “Less is More" often applies, where shadows enhance illuminated areas for greater impact.
Various techniques exist to achieve optimal lighting, but there’s a specific way to illuminate your property according to your preferences. By considering options like pathway lighting, spread lighting, downlighting, uplighting, accent lighting, and cross lighting, we collaborate closely with homeowners on-site to design, adjust, and refine their landscape lighting experience.
Installation & Set-Up​
Once we have a plan ready, it’s time to install fixtures, bury wiring, connect the transformer to your power supply, and bring your landscape lighting vision to life.
Typical installation steps include:

Call to locate underground utility lines before digging begins.

Install the transformer in a low-visibility area for easy access during maintenance.

Set up a switch or controller for light management.
-
Install fixtures and bulbs, connect wires to the transformer, ensure all connections are secure, and bury the wiring. (We recommend using stainless steel hardware to fasten to live branches to avoid metal poisoning in trees.)
After completing the installation, we tidy up the area and return at dusk to conduct an after-installation system test to assess and refine the lighting setup.

During this test, we will:

Check the voltage at the last fixture.

Confirm that the connections in the transformer terminal blocks are secure.

Address any voltage or connectivity issues that arise.

Ensure that no irrigation, communication lines, or other subsurface structures were damaged.

Evaluate the lighting effects, including shadows. Is there too much or too little light? Are the angles correct? Are the outcomes aesthetically pleasing?

Adjust fixtures and accessories as necessary since sometimes simply repositioning, re-aiming, or changing bulbs can create significant improvements.
